During 2016, a lot of movies were released. Some were good, some were bad, and others were less than acceptable. Now, in 2017, there will be a abundance of films that have the potential to do gang busters in the theaters. DISCLAIMER: This list will include some commentary that is slightly risqué.
This number ten spot belongs to the sequel of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Plot: When a wounded Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) tries to entice a cautious Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle them, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.

Next up, is an action movie starring one of Hollywood’s best action stars, Keanu Reeves. John Wick: Chapter 2
Plot: This movie will continue the story of the legendary hit-man as he comes out of retirement when a former associate plots to seize control of an international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, Wick travels to Rome to square off against the world’s deadliest killers. As a person who’s seen the first one, I’d say this is going to be one B.A. film.
Plot: The Lego Batman Movie will star the Dark Knight in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
This movie differentiates from all other Batman films for a plethora of reasons. Number one being that he’s a lego figure. It will be packed with slapstick comedy, outrageous and vivid visuals, and even some references to the other live action Batmen. This is definitely a movie your sibling/child won’t stop talking about. Just be prepared for the large investment in McDonald’s happy meals that include Lego Batman merchandise .
Once again, Disney is adapting the animated film of Stockholm Syndrome between a female and a personified bear into a live-action film. Beauty and the Beast will star Emma Watson as Belle, the bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast’s hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.
These teenagers are going to bring a lot more than just attitude. The Power Rangers are coming back and from the trailer, it appears that it will be taking a “Christopher Nolan” approach on the franchise. The new five teens are more like misfits than socialites. After discovering the power coins, they’re trained by Zordon to assume the positions of previous warriors and protect earth. In addition, they also have robotic dinosaurs that they can combine to form Megazord which is a sky scraper tall dinosaur that can fight. I’m already there.
In Logan, it will take place in the near future. Logan aka Wolverine has grown old and his healing factor has slowed down greatly. He takes care of Professor X who’s experiencing neurological trouble due to old age. In a turn of events, Logan and Xavier cross paths with a little girl by the name of X-23 who has similar abilities to Logan. However, her ferocity makes her a dangerous weapon to let roam in public. Unfortunately, there are others looking for her who have ill intentions. These people are a specialized task force called The Reavers who have bionic limbs and attachments that allow them to become somewhat super-human. If you liked The Dark Knight, you’ll love this movie. That or you’ll be on some blog site tearing it apart.
After critical and financial success at the box office, James Gunn was given the opportunity, once again, to create a sequel to the wackiest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 . While it has been announced, the plot of the film has been vague and unconfirmed. From speculation, it looks as if Star-lord, Gamora, Drax, and Rocket-Racoon are on a mission to find Star-lord’s father, Ego the living planet.
The previous live action Spider-Men of the past films have done a pretty good job at portraying the web slinger. However, since they were owned by Sony digital, the character wasn’t done justice and in the process, created mistakes that weren’t forgotten. First off, Peter Parker is a High-school outcast, so why did Tobey and Garfield appear to be the opposite. Secondly, it is simply impossible for a teenager with little fabric design and clothing skills to make a complex spandex suit and mask with a built in adhesive to stick to the collar. Fortunately, now that he’s at Marvel Studios, he has an unlimited amount of resources including Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron-man.
Plot: Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.
