After an illustrious career, rumor has surfaced of Jack Nicholson’s retirement. According to co-star and long-standing friend Peter Fonda, says the former party animal has retired at the age 79.
“I think he is basically retired. I don’t want to speak for him, but he has done a lot of work and he has done very well as a person financially,” Fonda said. This is not the first time rumors have surfaced of Nicholson’s retirement have surfaced. Four years ago, it was rumored that Nicholson was set to retire due to memory issues but such claims were shot down by the actor’s representatives. In an interview in 2013 Nicholson admitted he prefers to stay home. He then added “I got tired of arguing with women about going to have dinners so I hired a cook. The food is better at my house. But still, a lot of times ladies want to go out, and I’m happier in my dinky little house.”
With Nicholson happier at home Fonda went on to mention that it would take an amazing role to entice Nicholson out of retirement. Even then the actor will not have to return to the big screen as he has had an amazing 60 year career with 12 Oscar nominations. The man has taken home silverware, with two Oscars being rewarded for best leading actor for his roles in “As Good as It Gets” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and one for best actor in a supporting role for “Terms of Endearment”
Award winner: Jack won the Best Actor Oscar for One Flew Over The Cukoo’s Nest in 1975 and again in 1998 for As Good As It Gets
