Junior Year! It’s almost over, one more lap around and we’re out of this complicated race called “High School.” Most of you are already celebrating, preparing summer trips, thinking of when you’re gonna take your senior photos…the good stuff.
Now, if you’re like me, you spend your weekends and nights searching colleges, deadlines, and basically giving yourself anxiety over the very near future. You want your senior year to be perfect, but at the same time you’re a procrastinator that just wants to sleep in bed all day, sounds like you?
Well, you might just have junioritis. This diagnosis is usually given to overachievers as well as the over thinkers. I know what you’re thinking, “This is similar to senioritis,” and “junioritis can’t be true; juniors have nothing to worry about.” In all honesty, juniors and seniors are in the same boat, juniors just have more time on their hands to get their plan together and follow through with it.
I believe that if you go through junioritis, it decreases your chances of going through senioritis. You get all your crying, procrastinating and complaining out the way as a junior, smooth-sailing your senior year, well somewhat.
Don’t believe me ? Here’s some advice from the graduating Class of 2017
Senior Adriana Solomon says, “Don’t slack off, no matter how much you might want to. Colleges will rescind your acceptances due to bad grades!”
Senior Malia Dinkins says,”Stay up on every single deadline, because if you don’t, it will haunt you. Also, take your SAT seriously, study for it, and do as many scholarships as you can.”
Because I want the best for you, my fellow Junior, here’s a checklist to make sure the remainder of your junior year goes smoothly.
Thank me later.
