To enter the majority of universities in the United States you will need to take standardized tests- the SAT or the ACT. Did you know that you can apply and be accepted into colleges that DO NOT require you to submit test scores? Yes you read that right some colleges just don’t require these tests for admission. These not only include art and trade schools but also some of the best liberal arts colleges in the country. Some of these colleges even rank in the top 100 colleges in the United States.
After receiving my atrocious PSAT score in 9th grade I felt discouraged about the real SAT. I decided to google colleges that do not require the SAT. To my surprise there are over 900 colleges that either have test-optional policies or test flexible policies. The National Center for Fair and Open Testing or FairTest has the accurate and current list of test optional colleges. Niche.com narrows down that large list show you the best ranking colleges. These include the top liberal arts colleges:
- Juniata College
- Pitzer College
- Dickinson College
- Whittier College
- Wesleyan University
- Beloit College
- Smith College
