Lebron James is undoubtedly the greatest player to ever grace the court. His presence alone on any team, automatically makes them a contender. Lebron’s excellence has been solidified through his perseverance over the naysayers. He has been by far the most ridiculed athlete of all time.
Coming out of high school straight into the NBA is not an easy transition to say the least. Lebron made the transition effortlessly with ALL eyes trained on him. His work ethic is second to none. His dealings off the court as well have proven him to be a pillar of success. He is the modern day superman. No player in the history of the NBA has dealt with the obstacles and scrutiny Lebron hasn’t only faced, but triumphed.
Magic Johnson played with the greatest assortment of talent any player considered for the basketball Mount Rushmore has ever had. He had 4 H.O.F on his team, along with all star worthy talent coming off the bench.
Michael Jordan is also considered and deservedly so. But take a moment and look at his career and who he lost and won to. The beginning of his career he couldn’t make it deep into the playoffs.
Larry Bird’s Celtics and Isaiah Thomas’ Pistons knocked him out of contending constantly. When he finally begun to win those championships he was beating teams that had previously been great but were on their last leg. The Pistons were old and had lost major pieces of their championship teams.
Magic Johnson blew out his hamstrings and was older by that time. Clyde Drexler and the Trailblazers were great but lacked a key component of championship pedigree which is what kept them from climbing that hump.
The Jazz lost to MJ twice and also could never flip that switch that would take them to that level. All in all MJ never really beat a team in their prime. There were always factors that aided him in his victories. All of the teams Lebron has faced in the finals were in their prime or at full strength, which is why he has some losses.
In my opinion this is what makes his wins more impressive. Kobe will not be included in this argument because although he was exceedingly dominant for a period of time he is not a better all around player than Lebron. I also personally have some disdain towards Bryant. Lebron James is the best player in the history of the league. Case Closed!!!
