National Decision Day is quickly approaching! Decision Day is on the first day of May – this is the final deadline for high school seniors all across America to be enrolled in a college or university of their choice. All of the stressful applying and the anxious feelings of knowing whether you got in or not are over, and now it’s time to celebrate the seniors and their decision!
City Honors started their own tradition last year; on May 1st the seniors are encouraged to wear or bring some type of paraphernalia from the school they will be attending and then a slide show is played in the auditorium for the big reveal! The slide show contains a picture of the student (and their name of course), the schools they were accepted to and finally their commitment decision. This tradition is one that students look forward to every year – it’s an exciting time for all of us.
I am very excited to announce my decision! I have been trying my best to keep it a secret but people have been constantly asking me so it has been hard to not let the cat out of the bag. A few of my peers know already and they are all excited for me. I must say that choosing a college was not an easy decision because there are so many factors to consider. However, after much consideration and a talk with my parents I feel that I will be attending the best university for me. I am very proud of myself for all of the hard work I have put in thus far, but this is just the beginning.
*Lastly, I want to send a special thank you to my friend Brianna Rodriquez, for putting the Decision Day Slide Show together!*
